Massage is a great way to boost our well being. In addition to easing areas of tension and promoting the circulation of blood and lymph; it can also help to alleviate sleep disturbance, depression and anxiety.

How it works

There are many techniques that can be used and will be selected depending on the focus of the treatment. Compression is commonly used  to get deep into the muscles and into the tissue to ease areas of tension.

When you become relaxed your heart and breathing rate decrease and stress hormones are reduced.  There is also evidence to suggest serotonin and oxytocin levels are increased which when low relate to sleep disturbance, depression, anxiety and poor memory.

What to expect

Here at Balance, we have created a wonderfully, relaxing and comfortable space for you.  We use Neals Yard organic products which are not only highly effective, they smell amazing too.

Your first appointment will be slightly longer as we will have a quick chat about your focus for the treatment. At each regular appointment there will be a quick review at the start which will enable us to modify treatment as necessary.

We start with lovely warm flannels on the feet so that the body begins to relax. The body is then ready to be worked on using a variety of techniques built around your focus for the treatment.  To close, we select some lovely acupressure points.

At the end of each treatment aftercare advice is provided along with lifestyle advice if appropriate.

Payment can be made by cash or card.
